What to look for when buying a grind and brew coffee maker

There are five key things to consider when looking for a grind and brew coffee maker. These are:

  • Quality
  • Quantity
  • Convenience
  • Functionality
  • Flexibility

Quality

The critical factor with any coffee-making machine is the quality of the final product; namely, the quality of the coffee itself. The aroma and taste are what it’s all about and the Cuisinart Grind and Brew DGB-650BC Coffee Maker delivers the goods. The built-in grinder ensures the freshness of the flavour. Within an instant of being ground the grains have hot water, heated to the perfect temperature, filtering through them. The presence of the gold-tone permanent filter and charcoal water filter, which removes impurities, are further guarantees of quality.

Quantity

Whether you want one cup of coffee for a quite ten minutes on your own or ten cups of coffee for a committee meeting this machine will do the job. Varied amounts can be brewed without any loss of flavour thanks to the unit’s 1- to 4-cup setting. The coffee can also be kept hot until required for visitors, whether late or unexpected. The elegantly-designed thermal stainless-steel carafe holds up to ten cups of five ounces each while the stay-cool handle and drip-free spout make it a pleasure to pour.

Convenience

With everything from grinding to pouring contained in one machine this appliance is convenience personified.  With all the grounds neatly falling into the filter basket it is also much easier to clean and maintain compared with predecessors and rivals.  This model also has a viewing panel enabling you to see how much water has been poured in. Not only is it clearly calibrated but it also has a red ball floating in the water to make the level easy to see. The large and user-friendly control panel make it easy to programme. There is also an automatic shut-off for peace of mind. Weighing in at 9.7 pounds and sitting 17.5 inches high, 12 deep and 9.5 wide the compact Cuisinart Grind and Brew DGB-650BC Coffee Maker sits very neatly on your chosen work surface.

Functionality

Programmable up to 24 hours this machine offers all sorts of possibilities. The timer can be set for that caffeine kick first thing in the morning when time is such a precious commodity. Equally, if you prefer your fix when you get to work your Cuisinart Grind and Brew DGB-650BC Coffee Maker will be waiting faithfully for you on your desk hot and ready. And how often have you wanted coffee at the end of a dinner party but don’t want to spoil, or miss, the fun by having to get up from the table and make the coffee? Not any more because you can time your coffee to coincide with the end of your meal.

Flexibility

Although this machine is designed to grind and brew coffee it does have one very important option. If, for some reason you don’t have the beans or want to use pre-ground coffee then the Cuisinart Grind and Brew DGB-650BC Coffee Maker has a grind-off function.  It is also wonderfully flexible for those who can’t wait for the full cycle to run its course and want to grab a quick cup. The brew-pause function allows you interrupt the brewing cycle and help yourself without any danger to yourself, such as scalding, or affecting the quality of the coffee for the others, which could lead to a scolding.

OK, so it only produces 10 cups as opposed to 12 which is more common in coffee making machines, but if you  are entreating that many people, or drink that much coffee, you will want to run the whole thing again anyway.
